香港市面上的益生菌補充劑大都屬於食品類別的營養補充劑,不受藥物條例監管;而所標示的資料亦良莠不齊。故在選擇益生菌補充劑想做比較時,一定要留意以下細節:

  1. 國際認證菌株來源

    選擇菌株時,可留意菌株是否有政府/大機構,如有美國FDA/歐洲EFSA認證,證明菌株安全有效。

  1. 選擇有多項研究證明效用的益生菌株

    益生菌有份不同的屬,如乳桿菌(Lactobacillus)或雙歧桿菌(Bifidobacterium)等。而在研究中,大多數都是用特定菌株進行,但益生菌有數以萬計的不同菌株,可想而知不可能所有菌株都會有足夠的科研研究來證明效用。

    擁有315篇研究,最多文献的 Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM 和擁有多過50篇研究文献的Bifidobacterium lactis HN019 都是有科研效用能加速腸道蠕動,從而緩解便秘與不適。選擇有詳細標與多項研究的菌株產品會較準確可靠,亦較幫助容易找到相關資料。

    傳統益生菌需要特定儲存環境才可存活;益菌亦要通過唾液、胃酸、膽汁的考驗,才能到達腸道,發揮作用;還要有一定的依附性,方能落戶生長。現代科技已發展出能常溫保存、有保護層的益生菌產品;亦發現耐酸耐鹼的新品種。存活率高的益生菌產品當然是較佳的選擇。

  1. 選無添加的
